Your rear engine crankshaft seal could be leaking oil onto your clutch. BMW has had a problem with the seals either leaking or causing a strange oscillating/cricket type noise on decell revs. Even if the rear seal is ok, I would still push BMW to cover the clutch job. It can be up too $3K at the dealer.
