Sorry to hear about the incident, I hope that the authorities do the right thing and reprimand the tram driver.
I am seriously considering the purchase of an in-car video capturing device as a safeguard against potentially wrongful judgements such as these. I have found one advertised in W.A. that uses GPS and G force sensors to automatically save video footage prior to and after a collision.
