I really hope you are right about that long crease being caused by the other car, amanusco, and not by some device located behind the outer panel. You've actually given me hope that the repair process won't be as difficult as I fear. I'll find out once I revisit a local certified BMW repair shop later in the week. My fingers will be crossed until then.
