there was a really good video about the 1 series review on youtube. it explained that the car really went back to the roots of bmw by being a smaller more nimble car in fact. the guy doing the review even went as far to say that bmw designed the 1 series to be a car for themselves to drive like its ment to be driven.. fast and around corners..
so why not 3 series and not 1.. cause this exactly. bmw went back to what they know.. smaller cars. 3 series and all other models have gotten way bigger over the years.. 1 series was to take a step back from that and make a really great car to drive just like the 2002 was..
