This is what I also heard thru some German car guys in the "know". BMW M// will build as many as they can sell.
Also... it is a safe bet that BMW is already building 1M's at Leipzig right now. So... the production has already begun. Whether it is merely "zero production" or final production for customer cars is another matter. Remember the lucky twelve and Scott26 both have said that Leipzig factory tours are closed to the public right now. Becuase the 1M// is being built there on the "line".
So... that would mean BMW will produce 1M's from now until early 2012(ish). That is a lot of cars that
"could" be built durring that time frame.
FYI:
"zero production" is the first series of cars the factory produces to
tune" the assembly line and quality of the line production. Normally these "zero production" cars are for testing or journalists. Then they get crushed.
