They should replace it for free. All it takes is about 10-15 minutes to switch trim with another car. I've seen this be done a couple times at our local dealership. The trim pieces just snap in so it shouldnt be a problem. $1000 for trim replacement is rediculous, especially since it's not your fault they screwed up.
