Sorry if it's out of the topic... But I do agree with the post above, I currently run 225/45 on all 4 corners of my 128 after everybody's advice here. The fronts actually look alright with 225/45s. OEM was 205/40. Running Yoko S-Drives. It does look a bit bulging, but otherwise, I'm gonna say, functional.
All you need to do is go to the manufacture of the tire web site and they will show the specs on the tire which will include the min and max rim width. For a bridgestone potenza 215/40-18 for example has rim width min is 7.5 and max is 8.5.
