I use them (JM Lab) at home and they are fantastic. Their BE tweet is amongst the finest in the world. Some say its bright, but I've also found it to be very neutral.
Yes, they are far superior to Alpine. I would go with acoustic matting also.. If you're got the doors apart you may as well spend the time and money getting them right.
