It may seem a random question but what OS are you running on your laptop/PC?
If you're running Vista, the .NET prog they have you download is already part of the OS bundle. What I did to get it all up and running was:
1. Connected the cable to my laptop
2. Connected the OBD side to the car
3. Turned the car to on (if you have a manual, do not depress the clutch
pedal and hit the start button twice)
4. Go to 'start menu' and go 'Programs; then to 'Bavarian Technic (BMW)'
And you should be all set
Did you go to the downloads section on their site? just download all the items they have listed and it should work.
