If, and I say if, it does appreciate then I really feel for those who bought an E46 M3 CSL. $250,000 new and a year later down to $150,000.

Berrick Lynton has bought the 1M press car that was put on its roof last year by one of the Aus' top gear guys. Saw it in the workshop stripped back to bare shell with a new turret and being prepped for class c racing. He will compete in next years Bathurst 12 hour production race. Will have a full Akrapovic exhaust and some very trick KW coilovers as well as the usual full exploitation of the, ahem, rules.

Saw the engine out and a rather disappointing drawback of the right hand drive version is that there isn't enough room for the steering column to clear the rear header pipe before the turbo ( I think it was ) so BMW in their wisdom crimped the pipe to enable clearance. Erk!

Needless to say this is an item that will be rectified. No problem with scrutineering as the LHD version has a nice open uncrimped pipe so it is factory spec'.

Car will be ready for track testing by September.
