I have not had any issues with interior space at all. I'm not quite as tall as you, but I don't think you will have any issues either. I should note that I have small children and my wife, them, and myself have been in the car plenty of times and I have not had any issues with space. I can not compare to the Civic as I have not been inside one.
Hopefully someone closer to your size can chime in as well ..
