Own a Nokia SmartPhone (N95 and alike), download a free program called racechrono.
If you get a 5Hz GPS like Qstarz extreme BT-Q818, it will be more accurate. I also use a OBD bluetooth sensor to read the OBD reading as well.
Manage to test WAY's car under 5 sec from 0-98kmh.
