That's interesting to know about the BOVs though. So the motor won't run rich if a vent to atmosphere BOV is used? Are there any other advantages to one over the other? Less lag etc? Or do both provide exactly the same performance, but one makes more noise than the other?

There is no problem with using a bov for the n54, period. Synapse, tial, and hks are all of comparable quality, it comes down to noise for most people. Im very happy with synapse, but its all subjective.
