There is at least one poster on one of the forums who changes only at the CBS mileage (he averages around 17k) and now has something like 170,000 miles on his car (not sure if it an E46 or E90) with no problems, and I've yet to hear of any engine issues proven to be the result of the longer change intervals.

So I would have your oil service done in July as it should be free. Since some of the US BMWs have the computer programmed for a time interval of two years rather than one, your dealer may balk at doing a one year change. If so, simply show them the page in your Warranty/Service manual which specifies a yearly change.
