Ziptying the hose is essentially the same as plugging it.
I'm not concerned about codes though, I'm concerned about performance. Also, noticed a lot more black smoke coming out of the pipes in the golf tee videos on youtube. Even if it was harmless and sounded better, it would look horrible.
