So active steering is the determining factor between being able to and not being able to do a steering rack swap?
How would one check if they do or do not have this option? |
Actually after a bit if checking last night it appears that all of the 1Ms and M3s do not have active assisted (electric) steering, only hydraulic.
I sent replied to the thread of the guy who swapped an M3 rack into his 335i and he said that servotronic was not hooked up so the steering was pretty heavy at slow speeds. I assume it's not a 100% straight swap but still functional if swapped.
