BBK, as per a PM I sent yesterday:
I'm thinking $1000 for the 40D including the 18-55 lens. It's a starter lens, but it's in good nick. I've now moved up to 'L' lenses, so don't use this one any more. No box for the lens, but all the 40D stuff is complete. I've used it some, but not extensively (around 600 shots on shutter), still in perfect condition.
I have a friend who may be interested in the 40D, so they will have first dibs.
I believe this is the lens (it's not here at the moment, in the drawer at work) and I bought it in 2005:

My LightRoom software tells me that I have 1875 photos with that lens, but that wouldn't have included those I deleted (not THAT many!).
