You are right about that. My favorite NA straight 6 is the s38 in the e34 m5. That thing is just amazing. The e36 m3 sounds good also. And an early e36 325i with over 100k and stock exhaust sounds amazing. IDK its like once their exhaust are broken in they get much louder and deeper.

I think the E46 sounds better, particularly considering that we (North America) didn't get the "good" E36 M3 motor. I've been looking at any of the cars with that motor, in some ways just for that motor, haha.
