Um, no, I've never heard of anything like that. There is absolutely no reason why you should have any problems driving the car for short trips. It doesn't do the car much good, since it doesn't give the battery a chance to recharge, or give the engine time to warm up, so long term it's not a good idea to drive it like that all the time. But I've been working on cars (including race cars) for over 40 years and I've never even heard of "unburned fuel in the valves" - I don't know what that's supposed to mean.
