Some nice seats for the 1M
Found in a German Forum :
I am in the process of getting the same The leather of the performance seats is replaced by the BMW 1M original black leather, so it fits perfect with the rest of the interior. The orange stitching completes the picture. The carbon is real carbon, the grey original plastic is carbon laminated. I will probably paint mine gloss black. The seat height is equal to the manual seats, so a bit lower then the electric sport seats. However, with some adaptions the seat can be lowered about 1.5cm. |

Should get mine in four weeks, ordered direct from Recaro and ordered with orange stitching and orange BMW performance logo. Gone for black inserts instead of silver or carbon

So one can custom order all of that (even //M logo?) straight from Recaro (Recaro UK?). That's pretty cool!

they are indeed a bit lighter but at least as comfortable as the stock sport seats. I had the Performance Seats in my 335i and I loved them. Comfortable, the alcantara is much nicer then the leather (personal opinion) as it breaths more and makes me sweat less, more side support, less sliding around in the seat when enjoying corners

Congrats OP!
and now to rant, I hate how North American regulations have destroyed all my hopes for my number 1 mod: BMW Performance seats or Recaro Sportsters CS with airbag. I hate how crash regulations for half the world isn't good enough for us You guys in Europe/Asia are lucky as hell! |

I checked the Recaro Sportster CS as well, but they where expensive and more complicated. (Seat occupy sensor needed to be added in the seat) I also wanted alcantara to sit on and not leather. So in the end the performance seats where the better seats for me. |

Quick question on those if retrofitted to a stock fully optioned car:
1) are they power seats or manual only, 2) are they heated (i.e. can you use the same harness as on the heated stockers?)

Seatheating is standard in the performance seats, however it seems only to work if the stock seats where manual ones. Electric seats have a seperate control unit also controlling the seathesting. when taking out these seats you would need to pull new cables into the dash to be able to use the seat heating. from personal experience seat heating is not needed with the alcantara. |

Very cool. Seems like the entire front of those seats are alcantara. I wonder if there is a way to get a pair of those to the US, but hearing the pricing, i could probably do without them haha
