I haven't been to the track, only autocross.
Car is stock and I am using street tires, RE-11's in stock size which were a huge improvement over the PS2's. I target HOT pressures of about 29PSI in the front and 27-28 in the rear. DSC completely OFF (MDM costs 2 seconds on a 45 second course), M sport mode ON, 1/4 tank of gas at start of day. That's it. Unfortunately, I installed a Mad Dad midpipe before my last event which moved me from BS to ASP!! SUCKS! I am not a professional autocrosser, just do it for fun, but it still sucks to get PAX'd into the depths of hell! |

From about 2x half-seasons of Autocross and Track, here are is what I've gathered with the car:
Stock vs. Autocross Setup Recommendations Stock vs. Track Setup Recommendations - Vorshlag Camber Plates & Wider Tires (from stock) - No more Oversteer concerns when putting power to the rear - No more Understeer concerns when diving into corners with speed MDM vs DSC Off - DSC Completely OFF on Autocross - MDM for Track until Competitive Experienced Level (Not worth Losing Car) M-Mode vs Regular Throttle - Regular Throttle for tight Autocross courses - M-Mode ON for Track or High-Speed Autocross Courses Tips for Driving on Stock - Enjoy the car for what it is, then upgrade and get Camber Plates to feel a world of a difference Launching - 2500-3000 rpm steady launch with stable grip on concrete will provide greater speeds once kicked into 2nd rather than slip-n-sliding in first with a higher rpm launch. Misc Tips: - Target Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tire Pressures: 36-37 front, 32-33 rear HOT - Autocross/Track Camber: -2.8 degrees (Max Setting on OEM Springs) - Driving Camber: -1.5 to -1.8 degrees - Obviously, all cooling/heat systems set to OFF - Most importantly, Have Fun! I'll keep updating this post as I gain some more experience. Last edited by DSCPLN; 10-19-2014 at 05:21 PM.. |
