Do 255/35/18 fit rear 2013 BMW 135i w/sport package?
I am looking to increase oem tire size on front and rear with the Continental extremcontact DWS 06 plus. Current tires are the 215/40/18 front and 245/35/18 rears with oem sport suspension, Style 261M rims. Want to use 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear.
I have seen multiple posts saying no problem upsizing while others had rubbing issues in rear. Tire rack says rubbing issues. I also see on tire specs shown on tire rack that different tire brands with same size, 245/35/18, vary in their diameter, tread width and section width. i.e. Michelin for the 245/35/18 in PS4 is 25 in, 8.7 and 9.9 while the Continental DWS is 24.8, 8.3, 9.8. The dimensions for the same two brands using 255/35/18 (diameter, tread width, section width) is Michelin 25.1, 8.8, 10.2 with Continental at 25, 8.7 10.2. So I am assuming that the increase in tire size may fit if you buy Michelin versus Continental or Bridgestone. Can any one help? Thanks Last edited by minimore1943; 08-25-2023 at 08:28 AM.. |

I have run the DW06 (and successor) in sizes you mention on my E88 since 2015 and have observed no problem/no rubbing. I use the M Performance version of 313s which should have same specs as your wheels.

I love the 313s and am very comfortable with the Continentals. They are more competent than I on the road. Never tried them on snow (which is not for the DW tire). Have had several sets of DWS on my truck and various cars, but never the 135i.
I probably would have gone with Michelins back in 2015, but my economic situation pushed me toward the Continentals. |
