Window playing up

Driver side window is playing up. First it doesn't automatically wind down approx 1cm when you open the door. Second, it doesn't automatically wind up all the way when using pulling the switch once. You have to keep pulling on th switch all the way. However, it does automatically wind down automatically on a single push of the switch.

Again, this is only on the driver's side. The passenger side operates correctly. What could be the cause, electronic switch/motor and/or reprogramming?

You just need to reset the window. IIRC, you need to be on ignition position two. Push the window button down and hold it for five seconds, and then pull the button up, and hold it for five seconds. If it doesn't work, do a search for "windows reset".

Sparoz, works great! Thanks a gazillion. You save me the hassle of taking it to the dealership. Man this forum is gooooood.

If sparoz's technique of resetting the window sensors doesn't work, your regulator could be playing up- it's a known issue. I had mine replaced (and the motor as well) under warranty.

Mine played up a year or so ago after washing the car. Gave it a day or so to dry out and it was fine. Hasn't been a problem since.

Sometimes the issue is caused by pressure (water or dirt build up) I. The window seals. The window detects pressure and automatically stops.

It's a safety feature so as to not get your hand/arm/other body part caught in the window.

Same goes for sunroof. If you apply pressure against the windows or sunroof as they close, they will stop.
