Looked up cars in posting above, as a result I am bumping up my offer to $31,000.
I am located in Illinois. But, I am willing to buy from anywhere, will go for car shipping if seller is far. |

I tried to deal with them a month ago and they wouldn't budge. You might have better luck now since they've listed it on ebay 3 or 4 times. They wanted $34k for it when I called. I laughed at the guy on the phone - seriously. I offered $28k and said to call me when he realizes that is the most it was worth. Never did hear from them....

Strangely enough, the car was re-listed and then sold for $29.5K!!!!! LOL Not sure why that would happen but I guess it did:

I watched THIS CAR sell this weekend and wanted to both laugh and cry... Laugh because the reserve was so low and the buyer got a steal and cry because my car is similarly built with around the same miles - hopefully this isn't a sign of how the value of these cars will hold up.

"bahn stormer", I think we are in the same boat. If you find, value for money kind of, deal let me know. I was about to buy from "ajshanny" too for $32.5k, but he decided not to sell and disappointed me big time.
My choice of color is red. |

I planned to drive back car from D.C to Chicago. I booked my flight ticket to D.C, but my happiness was short lived when he called me and said that he has decided to not sell the car.

Dealer in phoenix has some well optioned 08's going for around 30k, I think the market will start to drop signifigantly as all the vehicles come off 2 year lease. Pretty typical from what the dealer was telling me.

How do you think the cars will hold up value-wise over the next few years? I'm hurting pretty badly watching 35% of my car's value dissapear in under a year.

These cars will drop significantly over the next few years considering the current state of the global economy. Sad but true - it will be worse before it gets better. I bet you will be able to get a decently optioned 2008 135i for around $22-24k with < 30k miles on it sometime next year. My wife's CPO 2004 325CI was over $40k MSRP and we picked it up for a bit more than half of that with 35k miles on it a few years back. And it came with the CPO warranty.
So the 135i value seems to be dropping fast - even worse than my SRT-4 I had a few years ago. You know what? I don't give a sh*t! I just ordered my brand new 135i using Euro delivery and PCD. I thought about this purchase for over a year. This is the car I hope to keep (if all goes well) for the next decade (or longer). During those 10 years I'm sure I'll get value for my money and enjoy every minute of it That is worth the expense to me..... I do feel for folks trying to sell right now. It would be tough to pay $42k for something and lose 25% of the value in a year. BUT HEY that is 25% better than my 401k and other investments!!!! |
