Not my thing either, just saying two points, one,,who cares, its your car do what you want and two, all the hype about the 1M and its barely quicker than a 135i, questionably quicker than 135i PPk, and way slower than if you add even semi modest mods, but main point, ethics, what ethics, paint it green with red pokadots with Ms in the middle, most think it looks stupid but who cares, its your rod, many on here post pics and are sooooo proud of cosmetic mods and I llok and think, hmm,,not for me but if that's your thing,,do it |

Personally i like the element of surprise on the road. It isn't like many folks know the n54 power plant in the first place, but they really have no idea it was fitted into the 135. I try different badges throughout ownership of my vehicles just for creative flair but end up sticking to the debadged, clean look at the end of the day. I had a glossy rabbit on the back of my big turbo mk6 that I did like though. Maybe I'll get a carbon fiber or matte black Porsche "turbo" emblem once my exhaust and methanol kit get fitted; who knows.
Do what makes you happy. |

I personally don't like the badge on the 1 series, the car is already small as it is, the badge makes it look too clustered. I really want to debadge mine but I'm kind of scared seeing as how mine is an '08. I don't know why I'm scared that you will be able to still see the badge's outline just because it's been there for so long. Anyone have experience with this/taken theres off this late in the game?

I just used a trim pulling tool and pulled them off. Pretty straightforward. Then, used some goo-gone to pull off the adhesive. Cleaned thoroughly with alcohol. Can't even tell anything was there. You can use a heat gun to make the adhesive a little pliable then "cut" through it with some fishing wire also. You'll still need to clean off the remaining adhesive. There wasn't any outline left or anything like that. |

Yes, when ordering one's car - it is a no cost option to delete the badges. Many people opt for it.

I took the CHROME badge off of my lowly 128i! I bought the 128i because it was what I could afford! If I had money, a new BMW M3 would be sitting in my driveway, next to my BMW M5, next to my BMW X5 for the wife. I am going to put shadow "1258i" black because I care what the 135i guys/girls think about me! HaHaHa

Speaking of removing badges, what is the easiest way to re-apply them as that might be requested by the buyer if you are selling your car. Do we simply use 3M automotive adhesive tape and cut them yourself or is there an easier option?

just removed the badge on my 128 because I think it looks much cleaner. Sorry for a boring post but I had to get my first post out of the way sooner or later.

I de-badged my 135i three weeks into ownership, the reason? - because I couldn't be bothered cleaning around the badge and didn't want my microfibres catching on it. That's it.....
I actually forgot to request the badge deletion when I ordered, I also threw the pieces in the trash. |

I had to fight extremely hard to source an M135i badge here in the states, I debadged my car when I got it for a day. Put the new badge, painted black, on the car and removed it within a week because it was so clean without the badge on. I'm selling the black M135i badge now. PM me if interested. You can buy the M135i and only put the 135i parts on your car and you'll have the better (my opinion) font 135i in gloss black.

I asked the dealer to remove the dealer sticker from the back of my 128. I really hate dealer stickers.
The dealer then asked if I wanted the 128i badge removed too. He said it was a fairly common practice for their European customers on all their cars. I was fine with the 128, so I left it on. |

Debadged the 135i from mine. I've done it to all my cars so far. I just like the clean paint on the back end. Too much stuff just ruins it for me.
Also looks more symmetrical aside from the single exit exhaust.

Personally it annoys me when people debadge their cars because I am nosey and want to know what they are however mine is debadged so im a bit of a hypocrite!
Agree with some other peoples post about adding M/// badges and the like to lower cars. Its just stupid. Saw an M/// badge on a 116d the other day so debadged it for them. Its the right thing to do! |
