But isn't it the fact that the factory will not honor warranty with aftermarket equipment installed unless Akrapovic is ok (but would they put it in writing?)

Nope. Both options are 100% bolt-on.

I think you misunderstood. I know to add the cost of the tips to the muffler to get the final cost. I was asking for someone to let me know when the tips are $0. Mandating the purchase of four small pipes with motorcycle exhaust fittings on them is unnecessary in the first place (weld the damn things on and make CF sleeves if desired) and absolute highway robbery at $1200+.

That may be a question for Akrapovic.

The systems continues to sell at the current price so it will not be likely the tips are free soon.

It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, however for those looking for a highly exclusive system, there are people willing to pay.
