Hey, I just noticed that you also have a Boss 302. Care to share your impressions between the 1M and the Boss (which I consider to be quite a lust-worthy car as well)?

Dang, where to start? Two different ends of the extreme, that's the 1M and the Boss. I've had the Boss on two of my favorite tracks (CMP and VIR) in totally stock form and it is one bad car. Mine isn't even the LS but never the less, it is a very capable car. Another friend that bought a Boss and a 1M and already had a nicely built 2010 M3 was with me and we took turns swapping between the Boss and his M3 track car. The M3 was crazy solid on the track (Moton suspension helped) but the Boss didn't fail to impress either of us. The motor is without a doubt the star of the show here. The pulling power is unbelievable. Out of any turn, you just push the pedal and it hauls ass. It took some getting use to because I race Spec E30 and have never been able to push a car like this. It's point and shoot! Braking and suspensions are better then they should be on a $42k car made in the US. The weak spots are fit and finish on the non-drive parts. The interior is abit cheap and plastic, but heck, who cares? I opened the side pipes and this sucker roars!!! Now, as to comparing it to the 1M, that is tough. I picked up my 1M in Munich the end of last month and we (brother and I) drove it about 1,000 miles in a week, including laps on the Nurburgring. The BMW is much nicer finished and does not seem to be as fast, but I'm thinking that's because of the noise more then the actual speed. Of course the 1M seems to be a smaller car inside, mainly because of the low seating and big ass hood on the Boss. Bottomline, if I can only keep one, I'll say at this point it will be the 1M. Only because the comfort will make it a better "daily driver" type of car. But trust me, if there is any way I can keep both, I will. One for heading to the mountains and driving the back roads and the other for heading down to the nearest neigbhorhood and scaring the crap out of the soccer mom's and kids! Funniest thing is, they are both orange. I wonder is aanyone will confuse them? More to come, if interested, once I get 1M in country. |

I think it's absolutely fantastic how GM and Ford are repurposing the old muscle car formula to make exciting and attainable sports cars that can mix it up with the best. That new ATS-V will be something to watch out for. Alright, I'm done hijacking Metak's thread.

I'm guessing this is something you do while you're fantasizing about your idol.

I'm CaymanPower in the planet 9 forum... not much happier there, they don't like me also...
Cayman S or BMW 1 Series M Coupe Why there must be such 'fanboys' in (or should I say on) these forums? Why do cars have to be an extension of the egos? I do own a Cayman and I like the 1M very much. In fact, I like both for what they are but that doesn't mean I cannot critizize what I find wrong about either of those cars. At the moment I'm selling my Cayman to buy an 1M... but I could go with a Cayman S also. Two different things, both equally rewarding, each in its own way. I'm trying to see all the pros and cons of each other. And believe me, as good as the 1M is, there's a lot of hype surrounding it. |

I'm sure that makes sense ... in your head.
Why am I wasting my time even responding to an imbecile? Ta!

I didn't call the Cayman R a super car, but it is certainly more expensive than a 1M. However, there is no denial that the GTR IS a super car, that will shred any street-able Porsche of your choice.
