Remove Steering wheel and disconnect battery for few days

I searched online and found the battery need to be disconnected (to avoid airbag explode and airbag code on dashboard) before removing the airbag and steering wheel.

For some reason I need to remove my steering wheel from my 135i for few days. If I keep disconnect the battery for few days, will there be any problem after reconnect? e.g. create fault code, engine/airbag warning light, etc..

Or should I reconnect the battery after remove the steering wheel without airbag, lock the car and stay this status in these few days?

Keep the battery disconnected until you replace the steering wheel/airbag. If the battery is reconnected without the airbag the car will throw a code (and warning light on the dash). The code has to be cleared by either a dealer or someone who has access to NCS Expert / INPA (diagnostic software).

Thanks. I know after battery disconnected, stored data like trip meter, oil consumption etc will be missed but these are not important. I'm worrying if there will be some more trouble issue after a long time battery disconnect, which throw fault code/light and need some special tools to reset.
Anyone has experience for this and share with us?
