Remove Steering wheel and disconnect battery for few days
I searched online and found the battery need to be disconnected (to avoid airbag explode and airbag code on dashboard) before removing the airbag and steering wheel.
For some reason I need to remove my steering wheel from my 135i for few days. If I keep disconnect the battery for few days, will there be any problem after reconnect? e.g. create fault code, engine/airbag warning light, etc.. Or should I reconnect the battery after remove the steering wheel without airbag, lock the car and stay this status in these few days? Hope someone could provide some advice, thanks~ |

Keep the battery disconnected until you replace the steering wheel/airbag. If the battery is reconnected without the airbag the car will throw a code (and warning light on the dash). The code has to be cleared by either a dealer or someone who has access to NCS Expert / INPA (diagnostic software).
