Noob / new owner - looking for a Conti tire... - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

Hello everyone,

I'm new to both the 135i and this forum (will post photos soon). Absolutely stoked with the car in every way.

My question is about tires.

I've searched the threads on a solution for my question and I haven't found a solution that fits my budget. I'm searching for one (1) Continental ExtremeContact DW 215/40/18 for the front. Seems like an impossible request judging by the phone calls I've made. My other 3 tires all match and are new.... just down to one front.

I was wondering if anyone had an extra or if they had any suggestions on how to get one.

I was considering searching down in Mexico even since it's summer all year.

Thanks for any help. I'm in SoCal.

Any news on this tire shortage? seems rears are available, and that fronts are expected in on 1/21/12 at tirerack.

I had not expected to need to buy a set so soon, almost down to the wear bars on the rears, but this morning pulling out of the driveway, I heard a "click" from the front, when I stopped to look, I had a 9mm shell casing embedded in the drivers side front, when I pulled it out, it had cut all the way to the nylon cords. My damn fault, was testing a new CCW weapon the previous week, and I missed picking up some brass. now I have a perfectly round hole in a tire that should have thousands of miles left on it.

in the event I am unable to get the Conti's in a reasonable timeframe, what are some tires that are equivalent?
