Hi All:
I am the original owner of a 2008 sgm 135i 6sp, completely stock. 23,000 whole miles on it. warranty about to expire in 30 days. And I am getting both a little bored, and a bit worried about longevity of the N54. So, God help me, I am thinking about (a) adding the bmw performance suspension and short shift kit and ignoring the longevity issue; or (2) buying a z4m coupe; or (3) buying a used Cayman S. Is there anyone near Hilton Head, SC, or Augusta, GA (I will be there next weekend) who has the bmw suspension who would let me see what kind of difference it makes? I am not interested in taking the car to the track, but simply want more "feel" in the steering, more "planted" overall feel. Mid life crisis time sucks.Bill |

4. Buy aftermarket for more performance for your buck.
If your warranty is up I don't see why you want to go with the BMW performance suspension, it is not worth it. Aftermarket will make a much bigger difference for the same price point. Here are the best suspension choices for our cars: http://hpashop.com/Suspension_c234.htm I would personally do the M3 suspension conversion + decent coilovers if I were you to get a really great handling car.

OK, Cooler, I am open to suggestion. how do I find a shop in my area capable of doing the install without screwing something up? Obviously, I am a total noob at this, which is why I thought I should go with the BMW parts.
![]() Thanks for the reply, though, I will look into it. Bill |

This post just reminded me that our warranties must be 50k or 4 yrs, I forgot the 4 yrs part. I'm at 35k and will hit 4 yrs at the end of the year. Sort of brings up do I drive my One more this year just to get a free oil change. I normally drive other cars a time or two per week.
As far as suspensions go, you are welcome to try mine if you ever get over to Atlanta. I agree with the other poster, the Performance suspension is fine but you can get more for the same amount with aftermarket.
