lol ... when I first opened the thread my eye went right to the photo taped on the car and I was like ... what? Way to tease Pap ..... looking forward to finished product VO brother!

First CF lip out of the mold. Snapped the pic before they were done with it so its not totally done, but its VERY CLOSE.

I should have something final (with a VO stripe) tomorrow if all goes as planned.

I plan to roll in with it on. If all goes well even the stripe will be done on the piece. Too bad the rest of the car isnt done to match

I was going to do it myself initially but I found someone to finally do it. I dont work for anyone, just an enthusiast who doesnt settle for what is simply marketed to us. I enjoy doing as much of the work on my car as possible but if I have resources available I use them, especially when its their field of expertise.

Once the 1M lip rolls out then a determination will be made for what other materials (ABS) or models (M3, 335, 135) to expand to. There has to be a market/demand and of course the manufacturer has to be able to churn them out fast enough. I still have other things up my sleeve for my own car too.

That one is a 2x2, I am going to mount a 1x1 on my personal car. Once the lip is available it will be available in both weaves with a matte or glossy finish and an optional pin stripe.

Good to know. I'll likely opt for the 2x2 to match the BMW Perf mirrors and spoilers (and perhaps at a later date do the diffuser), glad the vendor will offer 4 varieties (or 5 counting the pin stripe).

So.... my piece wasnt done with paint therefore I wasnt able to install it.

We did have a 2x2 that wasnt painted though. I did install it on another car and snapped a quick pic as a teaser...

Should be able to order as soon as the Slek site (www.slekdesigns.com) is online.

If for whatever reason they have delays I will get a work around for you guys, but we are still waiting to release pictures when I get my lip installed.

oh, Slek ended up making this?
I'm guessing it's a far cry from the original target price then?

Getting lots of questions about mounting and availability.

The piece will be available in a 1x1 or 2x2 weave.

Honestly I think it needs the stripe to help distinguish it but I would say the AW guys should go with a strip of vinyl (2/8-3/16ths) along the bottom edge. This way they can switch between looks easily, vinyl isnt going to chip like paint would, and it can easily/cheaply can be replaced almost instantly.

As far as mounting it needs some double side tape along the leading edge and sides. The rear has three holes to bolt on with the existing three bolts underneath the OEM bumper.
