Hi all,
This my first thread! 1 Series coupe is my favourite car of all time because of its proportions, economy and performance. It is my dream to purchase this car from new but I am unsure wheather to go for a 123d with all extras, or a 135i as it is just about the same price. The 7 speed double clutch transmission in the 135i is really appealing to me. Could someone tell me how well the standard automatic transmission performes? ![]() |

Hi I am new to this forum too. Well done on getting the car!! What did you order? I am looking to buy a 1 series coupe but not sure about wich model to get. I like the 123d but with alot of options it's the same price as a 135i!

I Feel the same although in my Dream im driving the 1M with bigger turbos pushing out 450 BHP but anyway my dilema was the real world i need a diesel and the best was the 123d but when i drove it the gear ratio is abit short and not ideal for cruising on motorway so what i did is go for the 120d auto M Sport which is cheaper and got it FULLY LOADED But without elec seat and heated seat( the price was an issue for me and the weight it adds to the seats when u can jst use ur hands 1k not worth it) I am going to get the BMWP Engine kit and really wanted the 120d Exhaust they showed off at the show but I dont think thats out yet and doing that will bring the 120d up to same spec as 123d but it drives more refined and and gearing is more all around ontop of that you only have one turbo to worry about. just a suggestion other wise i would definately get 123d Auto. The standard 6 speed auto is very good very smooth and most critics have been reccomending this over the manual 6 speed however the 7 speed DCT is in another league as BMW Know how to merge technology with pure driving JOY as that is the new phrase. My advice about choosing a car is real world driving. the 123d you can thrash everywhere and still get 40MPG 135I when you thrash it youl be gettin 18mpg maybe less. |

Recently joined although I have had the 1 series for a while, but to reply to the post above you can have fun in the 135i and still get 27 to the gallon (ok that's not great) but its respectable for such a car.

Hi from a UK 120d M Sport Coupe owner
Hi all,
Like to introduce myself and my new purchase. I'm Jason and a very proud owner of a 2008 BMW 120d M Sport Coupe. I've made the transition from 7 years of relatively trouble free ownership of a 2002 Seat Leon Cupra 20vt (Remapped from 180bhp to 212bhp using Revo). Having never owned a BMW before, I must say the move over to BMW was a good one and hope another 7 years of trouble free ownership is ahead of me. Being a newbie I will no doubt have a number of questions, but will post these in the appropriate sections. Looking forward to enjoying this forum and the BMW experience. Thanks |

Hi All. New member just signed up. Live in the Derbyshire area and Currently driving a CSL and 997 RS and was also running an F20 120d as a company car.
CSL is currently for sale, looks like it will be sold by early feb. Which means ill be on the look out for a 1M. I would love to keep the CSL but its not really suited to daily duties and Im fed up with the hassel (i.e. costs) of running 3 cars. (Especially when 2 of them only do 3k each a year) Anyway im enjoying reading through the 1M section, i think ive spent about 10k on mods in my head and ive not even started looking for a car yet ![]() Hope to see you soon at a meet. ![]() ![]() |

Ah yes that was probably me Chris. Think i posted in the whats going on thread. Its killing me to sell the CSL but life moves on and you have to try new things.
Ive been following your threads with interest, make very interesting reading. Especially since I had an Exige S also a few years ago. Thanks for the welcome ![]() Ian |

Hi there, this is my first post and I wonder if there is anyone who would be interested in a set of custom made touring luggage for an E88 1 Series convertible ?
I have a set of 3 suitcases and these allow you to tour with the maximum amount of luggage with the roof open. They are top quality German "Roadsterbag". Contact me if you are interested and I can provide you with full specification and photos. |

Hi all,
I'm new here and ordered my first BMW, a M135i last weekend, I'm very excited, can't wait for it to arrive! I haven't been given a build date yet so I'll be looking to the forum to help me through the agonising wait! Thank you to ChrisBuer for recommending the forum. Cheers, Will |
