Dead spider in headlight

Hi guys I have a dead spider in my 135i headlight. It's on the bottom of the housing. How do I get it out.. I just picked up the car 3 days ago. Noticed the little pest when I was cleaning my lamps. Thanks

HA! (I don't have your answer).. But that would freak me out. I hate spiders. Good luck

My theory would be pop out the headlight and blow air in there till he flys out!

pop the back cap off (held on with 2 brackets) and shoot a leaf blower in it. That's what I would do... if I had a leaf blower...

If you just picked this car up, then I would take it back and have them check the seals around the headlight. If a spider was able to get in there, then condensation might be able to as well.

Pretty sure he bought the car in PA and we live in CT. I actually bumped into him (Mike) going out to grab lunch from work. Car looks great except for the tarantula in the headlight haha

Interested to hear what you figure out. I've got a dead spider in the headlight of my wife's 2004 Audi - we bought the car used and it looks like the little guy has been in there forever. I'm waiting for her to notice it, then I'll need to find a way to get him out.

Cheers,
Bryan

Are the side blinkers in these cars separated from the headlight. I was thinking of getting a good vacumme with a small tube sticking it in the turn signal bulb hole and sucking him out.

Lol I just noticed this guy yesterday. I have washed the car twice already and there was no condensation. I'm pretty sure he must of got in while the dealer was changing a bulb or something. Im afraid if I shoot compressed air in he's going to fly somewhere more inside.

The headlights of my 128i (I'm assuming 135 is the same) are different from any I have seen before. My other recent cars have had a twist off bulb carrier that you rotate and then remove for bulp replacement. My 128i has a basically flat plastic plate with a gasket held in place by wire springs. Once you pry the springs off (rotate them) you can lift the cover off and have access to the bulbs. I think you will have plenty of room to access a dead spider.

I would agree that the spider is likely to have been there when the car was built. The bulbs are well sealed, better than I've seen previously.

Jim

P. S. I had this apart not for the normal reason - bulb replacement - but because I was installing a "flash2pass" garage door opener. I took the cover off to see what wire went where so I could be sure I was tapping into the high beam circuit.

Maybe you should feed him more often. Then he wouldn't be dead.

If you can reach him with some sort of stick or metal hanger, use some double sided tape and attach it at the end of your stick. Poke it in and pull it out. Only thing that I can think of besides using air.

In my 2011 128i convertible, I got one in my passenger side taillight. It's on the lower clear blinker part...
Can't seem to get it out of there!
