Video: Akrapovic Evo Music played by a 1M and M3 - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

Took some clips to test a car camera rig setup. The rig was on the 1M and M3 which both have KW V3 suspension so they weren't the smoothest cars to put the camera on, but worked out okay. The heavy camera shakes were because DSLR's are so front heavy and only have 1 mounting point (I need to solve that). Anyways, we seemed to capture pretty good sound from the exhausts so I figured I'd share them.

No, I'm drawn to the V8 sound a bit too. At lower RPM's it sounds ok, like a lot of V8's, but even at 4k you begin realize something's different here, then by 8400....omg, that sound is incredible. The 1M looks meaner (IMO) and the sounds over all more exotic for a lack of better words, I-6's are a BMW signature sound much like P-cars flat six. Not knocking either car, loved my E90 M3 and love my current 1M. Awesome video work for sure!!!

Thanks for posting this great video. Such a pair of wonderful cars. The 1M imo looks better from almost every angel, especially more aggressive at both front and rear end but there is no denying that with or without Akra, the V8 of M3 sounds just better. I think even a stock M3 has a better sound than any turbo BMW engine with any aftermarket exhaust. That is one area that the M3 really shines. Ferrrari sound engineers would proudly authorize that kind of music.

1M looks better. M3 sounds better..... IMO. I used to own the M3 now have the 1M.... both are great cars. Wish I could have both.
