Registry wrap-up table updated

Here's an update and a correction to the former table.

As of today, cars still roll off the assembly lines in Leipzig.

I'm curious to know how did the total drop from 7,400 to 6,000. My guess is that the true number is around 5,000.

Quite simple, actually - I had several mistakes in the former version. This one relies on a source a lot more reliable. As of June 29, total production figure is 6,240 (including all pre-series vehicles). Will there be any production in July as well? We'll have to wait, I guess...

The German web site configurator for the 1M is still active which usually is a quite accurate sign about the end of production for any model. Anybody has any idea if the production came to an end or they still continue producing 1Ms during July?

Not knowing you did the job, I have done the same...funny.
I think that last VIN produced in June are VU27455 (LHD) and VU28399 (RHD).
Do you know why they had such a low 1M production in January 2012?
Quite strange that no LHD was produced between December 22nd and January 31st 2012.

January production lapse: a good point. Apparently the plant in Leipzig was shut down from Dec 23 (obvious) and re-opened only on January 23. Usually that happens when lines are being re-shuffled/re-organized. F20 series production in Leipzig started on Jan 23. So here's a good reason...

1M's production did not continue into July, so that the very last 1M may have been VU27454, a black car produced on June 29, and presumably shipped to South America (Chile/Argentina?).

Oh, if it is Chile I am going to find out and will try to convince the owner to have a photo together with my VO

Ismotind you are scaring me a bit, what else you know about the 1Ms that we don't know?

You never know, and I didn't get to look at the production records in Leipzig, but this is as close as I can get, and it should be very close to actual records (unless, of course, production re-starts tomorrow...)

Don't hold your breath yet, could be Mexico as well...but please help me there, and provide me with your car's VIN. I'd like to make another check-up on this last one. Thx!

I just sent an e-mail to the official (and only) BMW dealer here. Let's see if they return with a reply since they are not really models of efficiency. On the other hand, my car's VIN should be of little help to you since I am a diplomat and my car was ordered via BMW dealer in Turkey while I was there from the BMW direct sales department with the delivery address being Chile! Still, here it is: VS63015. It was built in August 2011 and delivered to me in Santiago on 29th of October 2011. It is recorded in this registry.

Many thanks. As you knew already: your car is not "Chilean", therefore the identity of the very last 1M is still a mystery. To be resolved, though!

So I guess similar to the Chilean Sea Bass, which is not actually Chilean (Patagonian Toothfish, but given a fancier name for US export purposes)

Though funny what you say, it is not really so cause practically bottom half of Chile is Patagonia which makes some sense to call that fish that name. Me Sir on the other hand has nothing to do with Chile other than residing here. My wife is Brazilian though and I am Pisces, if it helps
