ABS Light and CEL.

I noticed the other day while autocrossing that the MDM button was casuing the ESC and MDM lights to activate, I thought this was cool, but I knew something was not right. On the way home I threw a CEL and an ABS light. I pulled the codes and 2FE4 is showing up, which is an undefined code on my programmer. I brought it to the dealer this morning and they diagosed it as a bad drivers side rear wheel bearing. Does this sound right to you guys? I am not hearing any noises or such, but I guess it could just be the sensor on that bearing. Opinions?

IF a wheel bearing is bad (ie: loose) it will allow the tooth ABS ring on the wheel hub to flex. This in turn will have your ABS speed sensor for that wheel to not have a wheel speed signel from time to time. Because the sprocket ring wheel with be coming in and out of what that the speed sensor can "see/read". That will cause a fault to be stored.

When I read your subject line I thought to myself maybe it was your SZL (steering wheel) sensor starting to go bad.

I'll give it a shot, I was showing a (!) symbol with the ABS lights. Any ideas what would make the sensor lose calibration? Is it related to the CEL code I posted above?

I thought your car is at the dealership being repaired? Just let them fix it.

I was not saying your SZL sensor is bad. I said that was went thru my mind at first, when I read your post.

I brought it in yesterday, they did not have the parts, nor could they explain the reason behind coming up with having to order a wheel bearing. I just am skeptical with a dealer as usual, I feel they usually break more than they fix.
