Coilovers and apex wheels
I have a 2008 135 and already have the Apex wheels. I am considering getting ST coilovers. Anyone have trouble with rubbing on the inside of the tire using coilovers?

I couldn't find the original part out but I believe they were 18's 8.5 front with 235s.

I have HPAutowerks Koni/swift coilovers and apex arc8s 18x8.5" et45 with 225/40/18s star specs on the front. I have my coilovers adjusted so the top of the tire is flush with the bottom of the fender. There was about 1mm of clearance between the coil adjusting screw and the sidewall of the tire. I'm currently running 235 star specs with a 10mm spacer. If I could do it all over again, I'd get the arc8 18x8.5 et38s, for the front. I'm also running with 2.4* or negative camber from M3 control arms and Dinan camber plates. Hope this helps

My Apex wheels did rub slightly on my ASTs, I ended up grinding part of the shock, not the tube, and it was fine. Decided to run wider tires and had move to a 5mm spacer (255/3518).

Took a mm or two off. Doesn't compromise the shock tube at all. You can expect to need at least a 3mm spacer w the ARCs and OEM wheels if you run ASTs, maybe get away a 2mm..my car is fairly low btw.

options are limited. ARCs fit great, better then most, but not 100% when you run aftermarket suspension. I prefer to run a wider tire up front as opposed to pizza cutters

I just installed st coils with Vmr vb3. I'm running 235/265 tires and I'm rubbing pretty bad in the back on the highest setting
gonna go back for fender rolling and possibly negative camber |

What's the difference between coilovers and oem style spring? Is it that the spring comes down on the shock tube into the area where the tire is?
At the moment, I'm running Arc 8's 45 offset with 255/35 wheels and have never had an issue with yellow koni's and OEM style springs. |

Are you rubbing on the inside or outside? Fender rolling will help, the rears are difficult to roll if you DIY. Fronts are much easier.

The apex wheels (+45) left me about 2-3mm to the strut tube on Koni's so with coilovers, you'd have to add a spacer. Spacer = (spring outer diameter - strut tube outer diameter)/2. I'm considering Ohlin's right now and will try to get actual numbers soon unless anyone has direct experience with the setup (they use 8" springs). |

Wait, I just noticed that the er body kit is only for the front. What do you do about the rear?
