How Much Tire???
I am using 275X35X18 NT01s on 10"Apexes with ground control camber plates.
Car also has Dinan upgrade. REALLY tail happy and hard to drive full tilt. Considering going to stagger with larger rears. How much tire can I stuff in the rear on these wheels? Any suggestions? |

If 275's NT01s are tail happy, your tire pressure/alignment/suspension sucks or your throttle control needs help.
Sorry to be so blunt, but I really doubt that more tire would help you. |

Tire temps are 39 hot, stock suspension with camber plates, and I probably have 1000+ laps at Putnam. Aligmment and toe are fine. running same lap times as previous 135??? back end is stepping out under acceleration only. thought stagger might help. by the way blunt is fine I am not a newbie.

Eddie, i will be going to VIR at the end of August and im running Hankook R-S3 shaved in 265/35/18 front and 285/35/18 back on Apex wheels. I dont have any suspension mods but do have a few other upgrades in the power department. I will let you know how it works out after i get back.
Not sure the max size you can run in back but it looks like there is still some room back there to go a little wider. Maybe though with suspension mods like yours you might be limited. Eric

I have Arc-8s 9.5x18 front and 10.5x18 rears with Toyo R-888 265/35 front and 285/30 rear. All stock suspension (waiting to decide whose camber plates i want to get). Just did about two hours at Infineon (now Sonoma Raceway) and the car was incredibly neutral. Abrupt throttle could induce the tails to come out a bit but never unpredictably or excessively. First time for the car on track (had 3-M3s e30, 36 & 46 + a Jcws MINI previously). I love the car...and the staggered setup.
By the way, The Toyos are extremely wide for their numerical width. Did a side by side comparison with some others in the same size and they are definitely bigger. No clearance problems and Arc says I could have gone to 295 but I didn't want too much stagger. |

Don't want to side track the discussion but really anxious to hear how the DINAN Stage 2 and Maddad mid pipe are working for you? I have the Maddad (love it) and thinking about going with the DINAN. How are power and lag?

In the rear, I get 315/30-19 Hoosier Racing Tire on my 1M with a more or less stock set up using KW V3s. OEM sized wheel (10"x19") with 6mm offset.

I dont have an issue with power lag with the Dinan. The maddad really allows the torque at the bottom to come on strong and pulls stronger higher in the revs that oem mid pipe. I am getting the Dinan muffler in two weeks when it comes out.

Driving skills and habits aside check your rear toe. We like at least 1/8" toe in but some cars use up to 1/4" toe in without ill affects to tire wear.
