I think the 1M's pull off the chrome better than the 135i's but I still prefer the blacked out look. Looks great, VO looks sweet in those pics.

Ian,

Did the CDV delete on the 1M make much difference?
I never ended up doing this on my 135 and the gearbox feels completely different in the 1M.
I actually didn't think they'd have it on the 1M.

The gearbox on the 1M does feel different than the 135i, but that is not where the CDV delete will be of benefit.

CDV delete regulates the pressure for release of the clutch plate against the flywheel, to stop that jerky feeling between gear changes.

Yes, 1M had CDV. Some swear by this mod. I did it on both my cars and didn't notice much. I think it depends on your clutch technique. The clutch take/release points feel more predictable, but don't expect a night and day change.

1M has the N55 135i transmission, not the 135i N54's.

For $25, easy mod. If anything it will make your clutch last longer. It puts less strain on the clutch and more on the rest of the driveline from what I have read, but I could be wrong.

Still waiting for my AFE CAI!.... is 40 days for USPS too long? I can claim after 45 days.

I've waited something like 75 days before for my BMS DCI's (no fault of the vendor). It arrived on the very first day I could file it as a lost package.

Mainly unsure of the K&N filter it uses. General concensus is that the aFe is superior.

They are all the same, doubt you will find any real data anywhere that says AFE filters (not sure exactly which filter it uses) is superior to K&N filters. Besides, changing the filter out is the easy bit, you can put in any filter that fits. The GruppeM intake looks fantastic. AFE is not consistent with the philosophy!

Really.. I didn't notice much until I put about 100k's and it adapted..

More responsive down low and up high in the rev range.. or it could be just me trying to justify the purchase Paul..

From what I have read it isn't a very measurable mod...more so if a tune is on the car

It would be more noticeable if you have a tune and fmic. Stock intake has enough flow for stock boost.

Air filters or cai make f all difference to forced induction cars.
Can make them look better when the bonnet is up tho, which is v important to some folks, which is fair enough
