Demo 1M

Hey All, I looked up my 1M production, and according to the chart my V.O. 1M is the 219th built and the 135th built for the USA. One thing of interest to me was the notation that my car was a Demo? I couldn't find any others on the list with that designation. Can anyone enlighten me please?

TIA,

tach9

Where did you look this up? I'd be curious to find out about my 1M as well. Thx.

Garage List
It is probably listed as a demo because the dealership did not have a buyer when the order was placed. It doesn't mean that the dealership used it as a demo as most did not allow these cars to be test driven.

Ahhh...that explains a few things. The person I bought it from worked at a BMW dealer and bought the car. I got it from him...ownership records lists 3 owners. BMW, the seller and now me

Thanks for the enlightenment!!!

Yeah I remember that vin number, its orange right! We drove the piss out of that car in Spartansburg during performance center delivery. You know on the test track, hard breaking, skid pad , hard acceleration . Your car was a blast to drive that day. I think it was there for about two three months for all those who have never drove a manual transmission !
Grind , crunch, smoke.
Ok I'm sure you've had enough, just teasing, lol lol, congrats on your car I have 6,000 miles on mine now and I love.

Hm, it starts to ring a bell. Wasn't that the 1M driven by the crazy BMW tech who won the "1M Donut Day Trophy" ?

Yeah when I got it...there was still bits an pieces of rubber stuck in teh fender wells

No worries guys, I'm the kind of driver that drives it like it's supposed to be driven. It's no garage queen!!! That isn't to say I do not take care of it, I lovingly do...but I bought it to drive!!!
