best sizes Alufelgen SF 71 with Performance suspension

Thinking of getting SF71, I've got BMW performance suspension. Whats the best offset/tire size for my car to not get any rubbing without rolling the fenders?

225/255 is what most people do but you are probably going to rub in the rear. Just roll the rear fenders, it's not a big deal. Once I got mine rolled properly I haven't had any more rubbing.

225/35/19 up front and 255/35/19 rear? would that mess up the speedo reading was comparing those size to stock ones on a tire calculator. Also what offsets?

Our 19" SF-71 are exclusively made for the 1-Series. The come in 19x8.0" ET 45 and 19x9.0" ET 48. We recommend 225/35/19 and 245/35/19 or 255/30/19 for the rears. No fender rolling required.

This is how our SF-71 wheels sit with BMW Performance suspension:

255/30/19 Michelins definitely rub, fender rolling is required.

Rubbing will vary by tire construction too though. See also, michelin pss may rub bit a bridgestone potenza may not. Or maybe whether you are carrying dead bodies in the trunk or not.

I have Hankook Ventus V12 Evos on my car sized at 255/30/19 in the rear and they rubbed with the stock suspension and with a passenger in the front passenger seat while going over a larger dip in the road or running over a larger expansion joint, like at a bridge. After having my rear fenders rolled and upgrading my suspension to 2011 M Sport springs and Koni sports the problem went away.

I'm biased, but in my opinion no other wheel fits the 1 as good as the SF-71 does. It really does have the right offsets for the car and the right look.

Michelins will always rub because they "run large" as far as tires go. My khumo ecsta spt fit nicely in the 255 and so did the hankook. Michelins on the other hand... No way in hell. If you want michelins go down a size front and rear for example 215/245.... They will run like a 225/255 hankook.

Are you sure you had 255/30/19 hankook v12? It says they make either 265/30 or 255/35 but no 255/30. Please check for us all since it does make a difference.

My mistake. The rear tires on my car are 255/35/19s, not 255/30/19s. I debated about going with the 265/30s, but decided on the 255/35s.

Any more pics of this set-up? I'm still undecided between CS7 and SF-71. I'm lowered on BMW PS as well, but couldn't decide between the two.

what tires size you are using?

what tires size and brand you have? any rubbing?

I'm in conversations with alufelgen to get a set of SF-71's with hankook ventus v12 225/35/19 and 255/30/19

I think your talking about my car? either way haha.

Tires are Kuhmo Ku39 225/40/19 and 255/35/19 no rubbing what so ever. But i think the Kuhmos have a less square sidewall. if you go 265 in rears or PSS in either size i think they will rub a bit.

Isnt 225/40/19 a really tall tire? Stock size is 215/40/18. Thats a 5% difference in rolling diameter.

nah mate thats the width, the 40 is the sidewall height.
Sidewall height is a ratio. A % of the width. A 245/40/19 has a sidewall height of 40% of 245mm, which is 98mm ( or 3.82") over the wheel diameter (19"). 2x sidewall height + wheel diameter gives you rolling diameter.

Google "tire diameter calculator" for further confirmation.
