Experiences with the K&N filter for the 1M ?

Just wondering whether someone already fitted the K&N filters for the 1M + experiences.

He believes that his cars sound is better than what it used to be. I don't know bout him but he really seems to like it
Thanks for the info, AppleJuz.

Personally, I don't know anyone who took the plunge with a 1M. Forum fellow Gtrain recently toyed with the idea of an air induction kit:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...8&postcount=18 (original thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=688599) (referencing to 135i experiences with an Injen kit: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=250206).

K&N updated its info re the 1M. Available air filter and oil filter for 2011 and 2012 are identical (quite logical, as there's no change in engine and engine bay layout):

I was also playing with this idea but finally dropped it thinking that if I want a better "inhaling" capacity I should change the intake as a whole with something that users have good experiences. Just the filter change sounded like risking the engine breathing maybe less filtered air with almost no gains. I am not interested with a dramatic sound change or big power gain etc. I am yet to hear anything wrong about the afe sealed intake with dry filter, so trying to get one now. My aim is basically to get better throttle response and complement my exhaust mode.

Go with Procede or BMS DCI for a relatively inexpensive upgrade. Sound is awesome and it adds some seat of the pants power.

Only positive to filter panel replacement is stealth. But if there really is zero difference on any interesting dimension (power, response, sound) then fugedaboudit. Rather stay stock (ultimate stealth) and add a Cobb AP tune or some such flash tune.
