With an increasing amount of BMW owners mounting APEX wheels on their vehicles now, we see many photographs of APEX wheels being shared on the forums. This thread is meant to be a collective effort of various pictures of the APEX wheels, as the official APEX wheel gallery for the 1M.

Feel free to just post up pictures, but If you don't mind, please also include the following since many tire sizes are not a direct fitment, and members would like to know the specifics of how to achieve the same fit/look:

• Wheel Model, Color, Size & Offset
• Front and Rear Tire sizes, Tire Make & Model
• Suspension Modifications, Camber Plates
• Any required alignment settings such as added negative camber
• Any other required modification (Fender Rolling, etc.)

Do the front wheels stick out of the fenders at all with that setup? Any better pictures?

With those wheels & tires sizes, did you do anything to the fenders? How much camber are you running? Can you post more pics showing the fitment, how it sits at the fender? Thanks!

These are the only other pictures we have of that set up. The front 18x9.5" ET22 wheel does sit very flush with the fender. It looks as if it is poking in those pictures because that car is at stock ride height and stock negative camber.

Unfortunately that is the only picture we have of the white 1M. The wheel fitment isn't ideal, the front tire is too tall, and was purely done to showcase the EC-7 at Bimmerfest. We recommend either a 265/25/18 or 275/35/18(camber plates) front tire. The front suspension has at least -2 degrees camber and unless the rear of the car is extremely low negative camber is not an issue. No fender rolling is needed.

The Anthracite ARC-8s compliments the Valencia Orange very well! Would you mind posting the wheel/tire specifications and if you have any suspension modifications?

This new wheels looks to be a little more than 10% heavier than the ARC-8. Why would someone choose this over the lighter unit? I'm looking at specifically the 18-10" ET 25. In that size a set of EC-7 would add 10 lb additional over the ARC-8. Thanks.

Presumably, because they're stronger and will hold up better to track use.

FWIW, I run ARC-8 wheels on track and like them alot.

As you said the ARC-8s make a great track wheel. They are also advertized heavily as such. So why add the weight when the ARC-8s already do a great job?

EC-7s aesthetic design likely requires more material.

ARC-8 is modelled after the ancient BBS RC wheel design from the 90's. Folks w/ dual street/track aspirations likely wanted an updated look - ala M3 competition wheels.

In general, I believe the more concave a wheel, the more material your need - for a given stress rating, material and manufacturing process.

I'm no wheel engineer - just assembling my observations.

With the increase of faster and heavier cars being used in racing, HPDEs, and spirited driving, the EC-7 was designed and engineered to handle extreme abuse on track and street, offer a wide range of direct fitments, while producing a relatively lightweight wheel (compared to OEM). The new features offered make the EC-7 the perfect compliment to the APEX ARC-8.

The EC-7's spoke profile has been designed with a curve to provide additional caliper clearance. It can clear a BBK spacer free on applications where the ARC-8 could not. A significant improvement to the EC-7 is the increased barrel clearance that now allows for the 18" version of this wheel to properly clear the Brembo 380mm BBK.

Cool thanks for the input, makes sense. It's awesome that you guys cater so well to track enthusiasts. I think I'll just stick with ARC-8 as they will just be for occasional tracks days goofing off, no wheel to wheel racing.

The other part sounded like an infomercial that dogged out your own other product.

I am personally EXTREMELY happy with my Arc-8s.... and while I understand some of the aesthetics and brake clearance issues, when it comes to the 1M specifically... I don't see an advantage for the EC-7 for a relatively stock car as they are slightly heavier.. and slightly more expensive for the same fitments than the ARC-8

Had the same thoughts.

BTW aesthetics and style are a perfectly good differentiator. Nothing wrong with it. Just look at most aftermarket wheel brands that sell wheels not much lighter or even heavier than stock wheels.

Stock suspension for now...all rims are the same: ARC-8 18x10" ET-25, front tires are 265s, rears are 285s...once these tires wear out, I'll put 275s on all four wheels and run a squared setup.

I'm thinking about going to a square setup for the street. 18x10 all running 275s. I really like the way the car handles on square setup, tires are less expensive and most inportantantly I can rotate front to back. I'm on my third set of rear tires with less than 20k miles and first set of fronts still have plenty of life.

Normally I would go with the lightest option but since these will be for the street, form is important too. I love the look of the stock wheels so Id like to go with as close to stock looking as possible. I can't tell what's closer to the stock wheel the EC-7 or ARC-8? It looks to me like the 7s have more curvature or concavity to them whereas the 8s are more flat faced. Which look closer to the BMW wheels currently on the 1m?

IMO the ec-7 looks more like the stock wheels. Thinking about running the same 18x10 setup...
