Cobb Stage1+ Oil temps. - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

Installed the ETS 5" FMIC yesterday and upgraded the Cobb from Stage1 to Stage1+ aggressive ST.. ( as this retains the "M" button function ).

My question is:

Does the car run higher oil temps on the stage1+ than Stage1..
Noticed that my oil temps increased with the stage1+, even though have installed the FMIC ??

Before the map upgrade with the OEM FMIC, my oil temps sat on around 115, now they are up to 120, even though installed the ETS FMIC... Ambient temp today is around 24 deg C. So its not a warm day.

An FMIC has no effect on oil temperatures. If you want cooler oil temps, you should invest in an aftermarket oil cooler.

Thanks... Just thought the FMIC had some impact on reducing oil temps..Even slightly..

Has to be the Cobb map..

Stage1+ is the bomb on the 1M..Love it.

Joe, my temps are around 110 on extended street driving. Try use 0W40 spec, warms up more quickly and runs cooler at the top end.

Thanks Ian... Not sure what oil Peter used on the last oil change ..

An FMIC will cool your intake charge temps much better than the stock unit which helps immensely in top gears. If your oil temps are hotter than before, it would most likely mean you are on it more than before lol.

For whatever its worth, I run the E30 race map daily and my oil temps are the same as ever.

Also check that there isn't any road debris blocking the oil radiator... Leaves, plastic bag etc.

Any idea what you are getting with 1+? Does that just require the FMIC (I already have the Forge and am vacillating about which tune...)

Haven't been on the dyno since installing the FMIC and the upgraded map..

Cobb Aggressive Stage1+ map, does require the FMIC and higher octane fuel..
