I never tried it but according to http://www.bavariantechnic.com/differances.aspx coding is not supported by the enthusiast version.

Is this still available ? To your knowledge, will it work on any of the BMW's listed on Bavarian Technic's web site (ie: It's not 1-series specific) ?

Yes, it is still available. I used the cable on an e90 as well as the 1 series. As far as I know it should work on any of the models listed on their site.
