My Rears saw 6,500 miles and replaced with new 275/35x19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
At the moment however i'm using the Winter Michelin Alpin on the BMW 18" Winter rims.

Tire wear is based on driving habits, I have about 4,000 - 5,000 miles on my summer tires (OEM) and they have a ton of tread left. I replaced my PS2's on my Cayman with PSS's and I'll be doing the same on my 1er when the time comes. Nothing scientific but the original tires can be good for 10-12,000 miles or 16 - 19,000 km.

I replaced my rears at 14K but they still had another 3-4K on them. 18K. My fronts have 15K and are at 60%. I'll probably get 25K front 18K rear. I drive like an old lady on the street though!

I've done 3 autocrosses and 1 track day. At 12,500 miles my rears were down to the wear bars. The fronts will probably should last me to 15,000 especially with the addition of my camber plates.

Lots of highway mileage for me and 1 track day with no problems on stock PS2's. 28,000 miles and counting. Looking at PSS's first or second quarter of '13 though. Thinking of just changing out the rears since the fronts still look great.

Got 21k on my rears, recently replaced with same PS2s. Fronts still OK for some time to come.
May replace all 4 with PSS when the time comes but happy so far.

Wow, this must be some sort of record. 28k on the stock rears?

Changed the fronts at 18k but they we're worn down to the cords on the inner edge (didn't realise how bad they were). Is that a normal wear pattern? The backs don't last anywhere near as long - but I think that is normal

It's normal for the rears to wear out on the inside. I think you should get an alignment especially if you don't plan on tracking your 1M.

I got around 10k out of the original PS2's, but they were edgy at around 9k and by the time I changed them the TC light would come on constantly in normal driving (for me). I put a set of Pilot SuperSports on it, and haven't had a chance to really push them yet, but so far they seem to be not quite as grippy as the PS2's, based on my non-scientific observation of the TC light coming on much more often than when the PS2's were fresh, particularly when cold.
