Cracked Side Mirrors

Just wondering in anyone has come across this problem, I have hairline cracks on the black gloss part on both my side mirrors. I have spoken to the dealer and they have order me 2 new mirrors under warranty.

Do you get to keep the old cracked ones once they replace them?

Maybe we can talk price on your old ones

Thanks Joe. It looks like it seems to be a manufactures problem if there has been so many cases of it.

Did BMW replace yours?

I will ask the question but I think the dealer will have send them back so they can get paid for the warranty work but will keep you posted if I have any luck

Havent' had time to take it in yet..

Ian has taken his in, and just waiting on a reply in regards to a warranty claim.

BMW Adelaide didn't even question it with mine and told me it will be a couple of weeks away as they got to come from Germany. Hopefully you guys have no problems in Sydney.

Took mine in last week. The dealer looked surprised and took some photos to get claim done... haven't heard back yet. I'm sure they hate me there, as I know more about their cars than they do... which isn't saying much

Also asked them about coding the drivers seat to go lower...again they said they'd never heard of that being an issue

True... Shouldn't have a problem... Have the whole US thread to stick it up them if they play hard ball..

What's the drivers seat coding all about Ian? I haven't heard about that one?

I found with a helmet on, it'd be good if the seat could go lower ... I thought you needed to mod the rails tho.

'Alik01' in Darwin with 1M had issue with seat being too high. The dealer re-coded apparently.

Joe's seat definitely goes lower than mine does. No a big issue for me even on track days, but would be nice if it could drop a bit more. I'll see what the dealer comes back with.
