That would be great to join us at 2.0...we could use your extra space for more food and beer and lawn chairs so we can sit and enjoy the mountains between drives

Post some photos of your SF-71s,,,

After seeing the pictures and video of the trip, my father booked a flight over and wants me to take him to Stelvio.

I think next month, I'm gonna go back there too! I don't think I can wait another year to get back to Stelvio and to that area.

Bob, everytime I hear this song from the Toten Hosen (dead pants) on the German radio... I think of our GREAT Stelvio trip!

I am already planning our next trip to the Alps! Stelvio v2.0 anyone?

Most of us are Americans. We were all linked by a common love for driving and BMW's.

Some drove further than others. Anywhere from two to nine hours! Rudi (e60/GS/1M) is from Belgium(had the longest drive and Andreas (Evolution80) is Austria(he had the shortest drive). Most of us drove five hours to get to Nauders where we met to do the "driving tour".

We all had a BLAST and swore right then and there - that we had to do this trip again next year!

So... this summer (June or July ? as soon as the Alpine snow melts and the Pass opens up!) we will organize another Stelvio tour.

Stelvio v2.0!!!

Most American, joined by a Belgium and an Austrian. Most of our adventures though are much more international, this was kind of limited due to the length (4 days) and route (Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein).

I showed this thread to a new co-worker. 15 minutes later he asked if we were going back next year.

Arrow Escapes: Dream routes thru the Alps...

I have started my "research" for our Stelvio v2.0 trip this summer('13)...

I bought this book off of Amazon.de - Escapes: Traumrouten der Alpen it has some really cool sepia-toned photos of those windy Alpine roads - we fell in love with last year.

I did not want to start a new thread - just yet. But I thought we could start talking about our "next" Stelvio trip here. Any changes you'd like to see on this trip? How many days? And what countries would you like to drive thru?

How about doing the Stelvio when we visit the Akrapoviç factory? Maybe on the way home?

That would be a long trip, not sure how many people can get that much time off all at once.

Also not sure I could handle all that awesome at once.

Yea.. I agree Gabe. I think doing Stelvio on a weekend with a Monday as an "extra" driving day would be ideal. I think I drove about 1,300 kms that weekend. I was beat at the end of the tour.

I was thinking we could do Stelvio some time in mid June. Maybe I should find out when that classic car club - will drive Stelvio in 2013. I kind of liked that we had such a great view of old cars around us that weekend.

Any other ideas for our next Stelvio tour?
