ETS intercooler ran track temps yesterday of 33 degrees at ambient temp of 23 degrees. Before my stock FMIC was high 40's in winter temps of around 18.

which track did they use last night. I forgot it was on and i was next door at the gokart track i should have gone

Have you used that mask stuff Ian? I have to do a roadtrip over christmas and don't have time to get a clearbra. This might do the trick?

Was fun ... especially at 9pm in the dark

Alex's car (BSM 1M) with KW system & Meistershaft was impressive. My tyres were cooked out after 5 laps though and the rear end was all over the place

Yes, used it on the track. The black rubber smears down the side skirts just wash off with the Mask. Highly recommend. The nice thing about it too is that it is completely invisible on the paintwork.

Doubt it would stop stone chips though.

Just pray it on. It looks messy when you apply, but in 20 mins it drys perfectly. Don't touch it while it is wet.

Personal Experience and Personal Preference for track tyres: Advan AD08 & ADVAN A050 or if you like Korean Brand then Hankook RS3 & Hankook Z221

Just so you know, it will only work when dry. If it rains, don't bother applying as it will come off.

Stone chip prevention? Questionable...but definitely a good idea for trackwork and roadtrips. Also I applied to rear of GTR (turbo car with large exhausts that spits fuel all over rear bar). Makes cleaning and maintaing the car a breeze! Also can apply directly over wax/sealant/stoneguard.

Hankook RS3.

If you have a dedicated track set of wheels you may want to go even more track focussed again such as the Advan A050, Michelin PS Cups etc...

But RS3 (imo) are better than the R888 and have good road manners as well.

AD08s are good road tyres. On the track they fared well but RS3s I found to be much better.
Regardless of their origin, the RS3 is a good tyre. In fact I don't rate much of the rest of the Hankook range at all.

I had the ADO8 on for 28K and have now had the RS3 on for 23K. Very short stint with the federal RSR (surface cracks after 2k)

RS3 was a second quicker on the track. They are both quite noisy after 15k

RS3 maintains its grip level to the death whereas the ADO8 provided quite a few unplanned opposite lock moments from 10k on.

Won't buy either for next set.

Steve - I've got a contact at Pirelli of you want Trofeo R, just email me the sizes and I'll get u pricing. I was thinking of getting them as next set of road tyres.

Re: A050 I've got them on my track wheels, so will post a report on them next year, when I finally start a thread on my car

hey Ian this is becoming a track tyre thread, lol

we should have a track tyre thread as a resource for tyre options, its too expensive to try every option.

i recommend toyo 888 for the occasional track day hero as you will learn plenty and still get about 10 track days out of them making a track day cost 200 in tyres plus the day. it adds up pretty quick. but i see no cheaper option.

edit + you can swap over the fronts and rears as EC will waste the rights quickly

PS2's.... think my pressures were too high though. I should know better, was lazy to adjust.

Yes, need to get a set of used 18" wheels and track tyres to match in a few months.... probably Potenza RE-11's.

Interesting re Trofeo Rs - I have only found good reviews, most negative reviews are on the original Trofeos as it doesn't last at all. They are about 2 seconds faster than Michelin PSC on a 2 minute track. I know there is a M3 owner who had it on his car and he don't feel comfortable as it is too fast. If you can point out those negative review that would be more appreciated as I was quoted 8xx fronts and 9xx rears, so don't want to put them on and not happy with it.

Saurabh - do you know how much you can get them for in stock sizes?

RE11 seems the best option so far for stock sizes. Either or, we really should be putting on camber plates as most of the tires operates the best at around -2.5 camber.

It was a Porsche forum that I read it on last week. Trofeo & 888's definitely not for a DD. Dedicated set of 18" track wheels & tyres is the way to go with these.
