PFEFFER BMW 1///M Coupe build thread (Czech republic)

Here are some notes about build of my BMW 1M Coupe. Car is located in Prague, Czech republic, Europe.

Upgraded brakes and suspension:
  • KW Clubsport 3way
  • AP Racing E82 1M Big Brake Kit (6.pistons, 378x36mm / 4.pistons, 352x26mm)
Installed mods on engine:
  • Full Akrapovic titanium exhaust (slip-on, CF tips, wireless kit, midpipes)
  • Akrapovic catless downpipes
  • aFe Stage 2 Intake
  • Evolution Racewerks 1M Charge Pipe (black anodized)
  • Forge Recirculation BOV (black)
  • Forge Uprated Intercooler
  • COBB Accessport ECU remap - Stage 2+FMIC Agressive
  • Remove of CDV
Installed mods on exterior and interior:
  • BMW Performance sport seats (custom orange stitching - costs me only 5 EUR see bellow )
  • BMW Performance sport steering wheel II
  • BMW black kidney grills
  • BMW Performance rear spoiler in carbon
  • RevoZport Rear Diffuser with Ground Effect Panel
  • IND 1M Gloss black side grilles with tinted LED's
  • 10mm spacers (Verstraβe Motorsport Technik)
  • LUX H8 Angel Eye 5000k
Planed on april / may 2013:
  • Still waiting for Morr wheels MonoForged VS8.2
  • Still waiting for SleK Designs Front Lip
  • Prepared Michelin Pilot Super Sport (245/35/R19 and 275/30/R19)
  • Ordering Pirelli P Zero Trofeo Race (255/35/R19 and 285/35/R19) for use on track

Some pictures:

Excuse poor quality - taken in garage without any prep (dec 2012):

Prepared BMW Performance sport seats:

I totally refuse to pay hundreds or thousands of EUR just to have proper orange stitching. So i decide to use basic textile pen and colour existing white stitches this way. And voila - it works like charm! Trying to remove color with hot water or mechanicaly without success.

Here you can see my choice of orange textile pens. All of them cost 5 EUR (togheter) and worked the same way. Orange color immediately catch on thread and didnt affect leather around. Of course it is not exactly Kyalami Orange. But in real you barely can spot the difference.

Prepared Akrapovic catless downpipes:

Prepared Forge intercooler:

Prepared Forge Recirculation Valves (black). Virtualy they are identical to original BMW valves but made of T6-6061 billet aluminum alloy instead of plastic.

Hahaha

One feels very stupid when seing your solution for the orange stitching.

At first BMW seats were a nono for me as a result of the white stitching, but wow did that turn out to be easy solving.

Thanks, and nice car too.

Also keep an umbrella by your side, or someday the back of your head might feature "ecnamrofreP WMB" in orange after a rain shower.

Seriously though, such great solution with the pen

Also, since this is such complete build I suggest the BMW black kidney grills and blackline taillights too, they look great and would match with your mods. I bought my blacklines from Scmiedmann, OEM BMW, p&p.

For interior, you can choose one of the BMW pedals, alu or steel, they both look good and a must for this car imo.

2 Ozi: I forget mention black kidneys. They are already mounted.

2 Rikx: that would be nice. I visit Munich aprox 5 times per year so it is not problem to plan a route. I can take friends of mine who owns 1M also.

To all others - thanks for warm welcome. Appreciate your support. I will update this thread during next months.

There was one thing what surprised me when preparing my mods. I live in Czech republic which is close to Germany. And I expected lot of suppliers of these parts should be available in Germany. Bu they are not. I have to import almost 90% of things from USA and Hong Kong. It is weird especially when you consider buing parity is very strong in Germany, also it is origin of BMWs and huge amount of ///M cars drive there.

The funny part is it only takes one hour to finish both seats

White thread absorb color from textile pen just great.

That's really good what you've done with the stitching. They look a little brighter orange than Kyalami orange but for 5 euros that is a fantastic result.

2 Jezzer: you are right. Maybe I should try second run with that orange pen.

2 1'M Blue: no problems between diffusor and tips. Groundpanel fits also very nice.

When we are speaking about CF parts - I am still undecided about side skirts. Revozport original installation document suggest to use some kind of plastic trim which is inserted between body of car and flaps. I am little afraid of that solution. It does not look good even on manufacturer ilustration photo.
